JASON PETRIC TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE

Following the April release of his debut self-titled EP, Canadian Country artist Jason Petric is set to release his new single “You’re So Beautiful” across Canada on June 14th. Since spending over a year working on the full release, Jason says that while it’s a little nerve-racking, it feels really good to finally be releasing the single.

“If I can gain one fan from the release of the single, in my eyes that has a (positive) effect on my EP and myself as an artist,” Petric explains. “I hope people enjoy what I have to offer because I really love the tune.”

One person that worked very closely with the project from the songwriting process through the recording and release of Jason’s EP was Producer/Manager Jack Shapira. He says releasing the new single is that first stepping stone to introduce Jason to the rest of Canada.

It's a great song with a really simple message; one that everyone can relate to,” Shapira says. “With the release of the single comes more recognition for Jason and that is what builds fans.”

In terms of further promoting the single and EP, Jason will be hitting the road with fellow Canadian Country artist Jason Kirkness throughout the summer playing shows and festivals across Canada. Come fall, he’ll be releasing another new single in time for the Canadian Country Music Awards in Hamilton.

JERRY SEREDA TOPS THE
NATIONAL ABORIGINAL TOP 40

After spending weeks in the National Aboriginal Top 40 Chart's top 10, "Ain't Learned Nothin' Yet,", from country artist Jerry Sereda's upcoming album Turn The Country Up, has reached #1. The chart is compiled of the best of the best in the country in terms of song requests, number of spins and overall popularity. Melissa Spence, host of the Countdown, says his longtime followers are definitely a big part of his topping the chart.

“Jerry's a real Manitoban; an artist who came up in his home province who took the time to craft and develop his artistry the old fashioned way by playing several community events over the years,” Spence explains. “Once you've got an entire community on your side who are willing to support you on your musical path, getting "bigger" will only come naturally.”

Topping the Top 40 Countdown is nothing new for Jerry since he saw two songs from his debut album
hit #1 on the Top 40 Countdown last year.

Hitting #1 on a National Countdown is an amazing feeling that never gets old,” Sereda says. But it's not just a victory for me; it’s a victory for everyone who has played, written, composed and supported the album by sending in email requests to all of the radio, and television stations playing "Ain't Learned Nothing Yet".”

Jerry has been making a name for himself throughout the past year seeing his single launch across Canada last month to Canadian Country radio, having the video for the single reach medium rotation on CMT Canada as well as playing key showcases at the CCMA's in Edmonton and CMW in Toronto. Jerry will be spending the summer further promoting his upcoming release at shows and festivals across the country.

JERRY SEREDA WINS
NORTH AMERICAN INDIGENOUS IMAGE AWARD

Mere months since releasing his video for “Ain't Learned Nothing Yet”, local country artist Jerry Sereda, has picked up the North American Indigenous Image Award for Best Music Video.

Since 2009, the annual event is the first & only awards show of its kind to recognize Native Americans and Canadian Aboriginals, something that Sereda is excited to be a part of.

“Both the nomination & win in such a talented and North America-wide category came as a huge surprise to me,” Sereda says. “To win the award is a huge honor, which I hope brings more awareness to the video and, in effect, more attention to my music in both Canada and across North America.”

The video was recently added to medium rotation on Country Music Television Canada (CMT). Jerry has also been the featured artist on CMT.ca for the past month and the video has been #1 on Yallwire.com, the Austin-based online company that runs the Internet's leading independent music video network for today's hottest unsigned, indie, and major-label artists. Manager Jack Shapira says he's ecstatic these accomplishments and the award win happened so early on.

“Jerry's album Turn The Country Up hasn't even be released yet,” Shapira explains. “For an artist to receive so much recognition by this point shows the success of his debut album last year continuing with full force for the newest one.”

With these most recent accomplishments, Jerry has seen "Ain't Learned Nothin' Yet," hit the Top 50 on the Canadian Country music chart and #8 on the National Aboriginal Top 40 Chart along with playing key showcases at the CCMA's in Edmonton and CMW in Toronto.

Getting on the Countdown, let alone hitting the top ten, is nothing new for Jerry since he had the great experience of having two songs from his debut album hit #1 on the Top 40 Countdown last year.

“It’s an absolute honor to make the top 10.” Jerry Sereda shares. “It is definitely exciting and a huge surprise every time it has happened. I owe a lot to the listeners for requesting my songs.”
